Every year Central Nine (CNine) in Greenwood, Indiana, holds an annual career day for students to meet representatives from local businesses to help educate students on potential career paths for the future. On the Central Nine's profile they state, "As a community leader, Central Nine is renowned for nurturing student potential by providing students with an affordable higher level of education!" We couldn't agree more with this and we're thankful that this facility exists to help educate our future in programs such as: construction and landscape, health science, human services, media and information tech, manufacturing, protective services, transportation, and work based learning. They also provide community service opportunities and the ability to receive the Governors Work Ethic Certificate.
Various organizations from over fifty companies related to the programs listed above participated and had quality interaction with the CNine students. JP Parker Flowers had the pleasure of being one of those participants. Pam Tucker, the owner of JP Parker Flowers, along with two of her talented team members, enjoyed the day talking with the students and answer the questions that they had from a spectrum of topics from horticulture to floral design, among other topics! We want to encourage future generations to have awareness and understanding of topics like native flora of Indiana, invasive plants and their negative impacts, and so much more. Also, for those looking to purse the path of floral design, like any career, it takes time practicing, studying, learning methodology, staying current on styles and trends, and more. We want to help support and encourage future generations that are interested in pursuing the career that we have so much passion for! It was a delight in sharing that passion with such inquisitive students at Central Nine Career Day!
